Rachael Curwen
Rachael completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at Monash University and is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries and is passionate about helping people achieve their personal health and fitness goals.
Rachael has extensive sporting experience, having worked with the Sandringham Sabres in the NBL1 and Williamstown in the VFL. She is currently a physiotherapist for Melbourne University Blues football team who compete in the premier division in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA).
Rachael is a certified GLA:D practitioner, helping people with hip and knee osteoarthritis improve their pain and function. She runs Bellbird Bone Builders exercise classes, designed to support bone health, particularly for those living with osteopenia or osteoporosis. Rachael is further involved in the clinical pilates and hydrotherapy programs at Bellbird.
As an avid long distance trail runner, Rachael has competed in many events, including the Two Bays 28km and Tough Mudder 15km. You’ll regularly find her running around the athletics track or at a local parkrun. And when Rachael isn’t running, she loves finding new hikes to try. Rachael has experience training and competing at an elite level, having been a member of the state karate team and competing at multiple national karate championships.
Away from work and sports, Rachael loves finding new music to learn on the piano and testing out new recipes to bake.
