Clinical Pilates – Circuit Classes

Clinical Pilates circuit classes are fun, enjoyable and a great way to exercise to stay fit and strong. Classes are designed for people who want to improve strength, coordination, balance and increase muscle tone without necessarily building bulk.

Circuit Classes

  • 5 different styled circuit classes
  • Small personal classes with a maximum of 10 people
  • Ideal for ongoing maintenance of a chronic but stable condition
  • 45 minutes in duration
  • All classes are run by a qualified physiotherapist
  • Classes involve both mat work and use of Clinical Pilates equipment
  • Classes run in conjunction with state school terms
  • Classes are booked per term

Clinical Pilates Circuit Classes are not paced for people carrying acute injuries. If you are currently injured, you will require a Consultation.

Clinical Pilates Classes at Bellbird Sports & Spinal are taken by our qualified physiotherapist and incorporate a mixture of mat work, reformer, trapeze and ball exercises.

They are designed for people who want to improve strength, coordination, balance and tone without bulking up.

These classes can be adapted to all levels of fitness and experience, however they are not recommended for people carrying injuries.

Pilates & More

Pilates and More is predominantly a Pilates mat and equipment based class balanced with other exercise styles such as yoga and strength and conditioning to optimise fitness, flexibility and core strength.

The class is run by physiotherapist Melanie Travis. Melanie is passionate about health and wellbeing and has over 10 years Pilates instructing experience. She has a personal strength and conditioning background having played softball for Australia and been a member of the AIS, though more recently has completed an advanced diploma of Yoga. Pilates and more merges all of these facets and Melanie certainly tries to make the classes fun and enjoyable for all!

Spring Into Action

With her decades of experience, Sports and Musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Kathy Brooks leads this class titled “SPRING INTO ACTION” aimed at the over 60 year olds.

Through a variety of floor and Pilates equipment exercises, these classes are focused on improving posture, muscle strength and flexibility as well as reducing the risk of falls. Classes are designed for a range of older adults including those with osteoporosis, arthritis and previous surgery.
To be eligible participants must be able to get up off the floor unaided, follow instruction and exercise independently.

Hardcore Pilates

A Pilate’s class specifically for those wanting to challenge their core strength and stability.

Hardcore Pilates is a high intensity class designed to challenge individual’s strength, flexibility and balance. The class involves advanced level exercises incorporating the use of the Pilates equipment (Trapeze Table, Reformer), suspension equipment (TRX) and resistance bands. Each week a new outcome measure is completed to track progress of individuals throughout the term.

This class is designed for those who can easily get up off floor, are able to perform x10 push ups off knees and abdominal crunches.

Ironmen Pilates

Ironmen Pilates is a Pilates class specifically designed for men.499314418

Using her experience in football clubs and travelling with the Australian Paralympic ski team, our physiotherapist Zuzana Machotka instructs a class that focuses on strength, flexibility and injury prevention.

Through a combination of Pilates, TRX and Swiss ball exercises, this class is sure to be challenging and rewarding. Ironmen Pilates classes are suitable for men of all ages and abilities.

The Ironmen Pilates class is not running in term 4 2017.
