| The pool is 1.2 meters (4 feet) deep at the shallow end and 1.5
meters (4 feet 10 inches) deep at the deep end. This allows most people to
find a comfortable depth to exercise.
The pool temperature is maintained around 34˚Celsius.
The volume of the pool is filtered every two hours. For comparison
regular public pools filter the volume of their pool every six to eight
hours.
The pool is sanitised using chlorine & ozone. All Australian public pools
are required to be sanitised with chlorine or bromine. This is the case
even if the sanitization is supplemented by UV light or ozone outside of
the body of the pool. "Salt pools" generate the the chlorine
they need by passing the salt water through an electric field.
The use of ozone assists in the sanitation of the pool. It reduces the
amount of chlorine needed and helps to clear residual chlorine products
known as chloramines that can cause nose, eye and skin irritation. The
ozone breaks down these chemicals while converting itself back to regular
oxygen. |
